Uh it was uh uh it was lateish on the night when I took up took the tally.
We were at seven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine.
Oh which meant that next morning whoever walked in the door
thousandth.
I made uh a a medal that was modeled after the uh the Pacific Crest Trail Association's medal and put eight thousandth hiker on it and a nice ribbon on it.
And the next day t two ladies walked in.
I said, One of you is our eight thousand hiker
And Gal pointed to the other, we made a fuss of her.
And what's neat is at the end of her hike and she did finish, she sent us a photo of her with the medal around her neck at the Northern Monument.
Absolutely priceless.
