You may well think that, and there's definitely isolated incidents you can point to to say that, but you haven't addressed the fact that Ireland is a relatively safe place.
You're denying the reality of what is happening in Ballymun by saying this is an isolated incident.
This is not an isolated incident.
And all of that has to be dealt with.
But what I'm saying is it is being dealt with.
And there are lots of instances, lots of cases, lots of people before you, the courts, who you can point to as having been tackled by the Gardaí.
The lack of gun deaths in Ireland last year, for example, is an indication of how much success the Gardaí have had in dealing with these.

I raised the issue of juvenile criminal behaviour and antisocial behaviour in the Dáil last week.
It is absolutely an issue.
And what's the solution?
I've called for, well, I think two things.
Firstly, greater powers for the Gardaí.
It's really difficult for the Gardaí to deal with people under 18.
I'm not saying we need to criminalise more children.
We don't.
