And I'm representing the Broward Democratic Environmental Caucus.
And ditto, we are with all of you.
We are against having the development done.
There was one point I did want to bring up.
Hi, my name is Kim Heisey.
I live in Parkland and I'm a local wildlife artist and member of the Broward DCF.
Broward DCF and I'm here to ask that you keep the mangroves as part of the environmentally sensitive land map.
I'm sure there are other places where this could be built.
People from all over Florida obviously are outraged that someone could be this close to being allowed to build a warehouse here.
We would be even more
you know, alarmed if you removed it from the ESL map to just grease the gears of that.
With all the hurricanes and flood issues we've had lately, greasing the gears of mangrove destruction would be the last thing that we want to do.
Mangroves are some of the best hurricane and flood protection that we have, and there's a huge amount of environmental importance as well.
It's also directly adjacent to the protected mangroves of West Lake Park.
There's no reason why these mangroves should be protected and those should not.
There is a reason they are on the environmentally sensitive lands map, so please keep it that way.
Please also work to further protect this land.
You've come up with some ideas I've heard.
I would love to see you continue to come up with ways to protect that land and the adjacent mangroves, anything else that needs protection that doesn't have protection already.
Broward County has already lost so much of its natural land.
