And I would see my girlfriends during the week when my kids were at school, but they weren't seeing us socialize.
And so I made the decision this year, I read an amazing article from a woman, her name escapes me unfortunately, but she wrote this amazing article on deep casual hosting and on the importance of letting go of this idea that your house has to be perfect.
that you can do casual hosting and let people come over and have deep connections with people and give yourself permission to have people over and your house is not perfect.
And so I immediately invited my friend, Jane, who I work with.
We've worked together for five years.
I had never had her and her four boys over to our house.

My house was always a mess, but we had hot dogs.
Dessert was like ice blocks on a stick and the kids ran loose and my house wasn't perfect and we had an amazing time.

It's easier for our kids to be on the couch, on devices, playing games online or, you know.
talking to the friends online, and I would just say in-person hangouts for ourselves and our kids are really important.
I think that the demographic with the highest rate of loneliness, it used to always be sort of people probably over 65, and you sort of think, oh, who are the loneliest people in society?
We think that's going to be elderly people who are widowed or they can't get out of their houses or whatever.
It is now 18 to 25-year-olds.
