No, and there's been a couple of other times like I've been at the stadium because Maddie had worked for a ticketing company, Flickit, and I've gone as her little helper and worked at quite a few different events.

And yeah, I've been told off quite a few times and it always seems to stem back to me talking too much.

So yeah, she's a hard boss, honestly.

She runs a tight ship, that one.

Halfway house, I like to call it.

Well, I think one of the draw cards is the fact that I back onto the Hamilton Boys High Field and so I've got a lot of teenage boys who are trying to escape school and also quite a few of Jackson's friends are boarders and so they're trying to escape Grove or the boarding house that was before they went into Grove, the boarding house, because it's not quite as homely and loving, is it?

So they come into my little house that's got pink things everywhere and candles and the lolly jar's always full and...

For example, last night, I call them my surrogates, all these kids, and they all rock in and they're filthy because I've been at rugby.

You should have seen, my friend Maria came around to clean my couch the other day with her little machine.

You should have seen what came out of it.

And this is because of the DOS house, the amount of bodies that have sat on my couch.

I was saying the other day, if the walls could talk in this place, we would get, if the couch could talk, we'd get some really interesting content.

Yeah, yeah.

I've had some pretty cute little humans turn up and they've blown me away.

I was talking earlier about these teenage boys who are showing like a rawer side of themselves.

And probably teaching my son that it's okay to be emotional and hug and, you know, let your guard down a wee bit too because they turn up, they all give me a hug.

I've had a couple of them in tears.

little cuddles together and just even last night when I had a whole bunch of them turn up and they were filthy after rugby training and they were all sitting on a towel because they were too dirty and the couch had just been cleaned I was like you guys created that mess we're not doing it again it's only just been cleaned but I think it's yeah I think it has become a bit of a safe space for them too and especially those boys whose parents are out of town and they probably don't have their families around as much around as much um

It's a space they know that they can come to, that they can actually have a little bit of an outlet or a bit of a conversation if things aren't going that great in their life or they need some advice or someone else's perspective on something.
