I think that's a really great point.
It's a beautiful symbol, but it's
just a tiny bit of a cautionary tale of like, leave room for this relationship to grow, leave room for the other person to grow, leave room to explore new things together.
You know, whether she was capable of that at her age, going blind, developing dementia, who's to say?
It sounds like probably not.
But there's something for those of us in middle age and good health to learn from it.

I mean, obviously you wouldn't change your reaction.
I'm so glad you didn't because it's something that started for you.
And in the end it was for her.
Of this thing that still made her feel useful, still made her feel like she could express her love more.
It's kind of nice.

Yeah, that's really lovely.
And I think it is kind of nice for you to know that what she started giving to you, you did ultimately turn around and give back to her just by accepting this gift.
And I think there is a lot in that.
Can mean something to the other person.
It's kind of nice to see the way that, you know, you turned into her caregiver a little bit.
