And without any kind of grand resolution, which will be the thing.

That I think drives people nuts is they'll get to the end of this book and do what I wanted to do, which is start again at the beginning, work out what have I just read, what have I just seen, what's infected me.

And that I think is the great pleasure of the book.

Like I said, I want to buy a box and hand it to people.

I think this is this book has some kind of literary infection in it, and I have it.

It makes you stare death in the eye.

And particularly because it starts with this real intimacy of a person washing someone else down.

And because you watch the people that you care about in this novel reach their ends and they're not always dignified and they're not always kind.

I think there is this

This sense that you can't look away.

I found that confronting and compassionate and beautiful.

I came away from this at a time for lots of personal reasons where you think about mortality.

I found this both a deep comfort, but not an easy comfort, if that makes sense.

No, it doesn't feel symbolic at all.

I feel like it feels deeply embodied, deeply inside of the realities of what it is to hold.
