I know that we did have child safety up here in Queensland.

So I guess with the child safety, it would be that, you know, these children have been taken away from the parents and that these parents are doing this, I'd say course walking with dads to help them with the way that they are treating the children.

So there are a few here and there but it's not huge like when you hear about women with domestic violence orders in place and women's shelters and all of that.

So there is a space there definitely.

When I read what some of these women have been through, my heart just aches for them and their children.

Yeah, well, obviously I was working in the jail.

I was working in the drug intervention unit.

What had happened is that they get mentors up from the village to help out with all the prisoners that are in there to help with an intervention of drugs and alcohol abuse.

One of those mentors was Peter.

That's correct.

It just started off as just, you know, conversation about, you know, prisoners and I'd do case notes on, et cetera.
