This has been something we've been covering a lot on The Health Report.
There's been a paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine which gives us potential solutions and we're going to cover that this week.
In the news, there's been a paper published in the Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Women's Health, a systematic review and meta-analysis, which I'm sure people have seen in their news feed, which has looked at the concept of IVF add-ons.

So what are we talking about?
And I think we need to remember, as you've just alluded to, people who are – and I help a lot of patients in this space, Bill.
I'm on the journey.
And often if people are on a fertility journey in any form, they are very vulnerable.
They are really eager to have a successful, viable pregnancy.
And when we talk about IVF add-ons, we're talking about things like embryo glue, corticosteroids, endometrial scratching.
These are terms people might have heard.
And this study that's been published has really looked to see, do these add-ons, which cost people often more money... Mm-hmm.
Do they actually increase the chance of a live birth pregnancy?
So something like endometrial scratching is there to gently perhaps disrupt the endometrial lining.
The hypothesis is that if you do that, you get more blood flow into the area and you perhaps increase the chances of things becoming sticky and successful in a pregnancy.
That's the hypothesis.
This is not something that I obviously do as a GP.
Sure.
The embryo glue is kind of a substance that's meant to perhaps help with embryo implantation.
