And it took a while.

And I think I kept having fantasies that this was some great mistake and that he really regretted it and he was really sad.
For a long time.

And I just kept thinking that he must be in pain and sad too.
And I don't think he was.
It's so hard.
So hard because you are the opposite.
You are on the bathroom floor.
A number of things had transpired.
