If this direction is correct and it moves the needle enough, he might think, you know what, actually that's the kind of big change that he was hinting might keep him hanging around rather than disappearing off into GT racing permanently.
I'm loathe to suggest that things would just be great based on what's happened this time.
It's such a car crash with the current regulations.
But I welcome the simplicity of it.
I think it's...
broadly correct right that you would have a simpler engine sustainable fuels are here to stay that has to be the direction otherwise the whole internal combustion project for the world and formula one is doomed so you kind of need that as a as a as a complete buy-in but
But it's the opening salvo in the haggling that will go on from now until they finalise it, right?
How much that electrification could be.
Obviously, they have to go lower than 50-50 because it's been a disaster.
So it can't be that high, whether it's 80-20 or it's 70-30 or it's 25-75.
Who knows?
Other numbers are available.
Yeah, exactly.
They'll be thrashed out.
But I'm pretty sure that...
once they get past 70-30, then you're more into the realms we're in now.
But it also could be true that, like you said in the previous section, we could get to a point where actually this kind of thing is working quite well and then people start to push back against it altogether.
Yeah.
The one thing is obviously the cost.
So I'm surprised a little bit by the idea that already F1 is admitting these are too expensive as engines because the whole point of ditching the MGU-H and going to 50-50 electric and ICE was to make it more cost-effective.
