Um, and I also think that you could point to, uh, the rise of social media and the fact that a lot of athletes have their own platforms and that they can go out, give their message directly to fans, craft their own narratives, crap, craft their own public personas without needing the middleman.

They can bypass the media in a lot of instances.
So I think it's a lot of factors at play.
But but I think you're right to point out, you know, there's the Pat McAfee style.
There's the Pablo Torre style.
And there's a lot of stuff that exists in between in 2026 here.
Yeah, I mean, I can speak from my own experience on this a little bit.
My past life, I covered Ohio State football and Ohio State football is as diehard of a fan base as you are going to come across.
And when I was coming up actually at Ohio State going through journalism school, it was during all the Terrell Pryor, Jim Trestle, Tatgate stuff.
And our student paper was like
breaking stories on this scandal and stuff that ultimately led to Jim Trestle resigning as Ohio State's head coach.
And you learned pretty early on based on the reaction from fans, like this is not what your audience wants.
Your audience is Ohio State fans.
They do not want you reporting on things that are ultimately going to harm the Ohio State program.
And I wound up spending seven years on the Ohio State beat while I was covering Ohio State from basically the first seven years of Urban Meyer's tenure to
