you know, it was traditional newspapers and television stations and some, you know, fan websites.
I look now at the Ohio State beat, which I think professionally is the biggest beat in all of American sports.
It's mostly fan websites.
It's not traditional newspaper people.
It is people, multiple subscription-based websites who are largely, you know, doubling as fans and journalists because that's what the audience wants.
So I do think there has always been a desire for that from the audience.
And I think back in the 90s,
It was you have your paper, you have your local news, you have the national news, and they're going to give you whatever sort of coverage they deem is worthy of coverage.
Now you have all these alternatives who can cover it from a sports fan's point of view.
And I think that's exactly what Pat McAfee has tapped into is that there are fans who just want to celebrate sports.
There are fans who just want to enjoy sports, don't want to worry about the political stuff, don't want to worry about the off-field stuff.
And look, if that's on the table, obviously the numbers speak for themselves that there is a large audience who wants to consume sports in that manner.
It's interesting because I think early on, this felt like a media story.
It felt like there's a big media angle to why wasn't this covered earlier?
Why did ESPN's story come out two minutes after the 49ers announced it?
And why did ESPN's story have more details than ESPN?
The 49ers announcement have.
Why did Tim Kawakami, who's a longtime columnist out in the Bay Area, why did he tweet on Saturday morning something to the effect of like, I think big news is going to come today.
And then obviously big news came out.
But as this goes on, I think, you know, the ESPN stuff.
