Um, like we don't have great evidence from our tools, but we do have great evidence from watching him pitch.
And I I think that that's um that's kind of what's going on with Rodriguez here.
I'll be a lot more willing to believe his results because he there's a a strange changeup that is getting great results in the same way that like look, Lavender was striking out forty percent of batters at triple A with a slow fastball.
And the models were like, This fastball sucks.
Um
But it doesn't, right?
Like it the they're just not picking up on what's good about it.
I I think similarly, regardless of what the pitching model says about Jose Rodriguez's changeup, truly this is a great pitch.
Um I I don't need I don't need a system to look at it to tell me that it's a great pitch.
I need to know that he's making a third, he's striking out a third of the batteries he faces in the upper miners.

At that one pitch.
I don't know if he's gonna be really good overall.
But what yeah, what I would say is
When you have somebody with these big numbers and when it's because of an outlier pitch, I'm a lot more willing to believe it without needing to go, oh well, let me go look at the systems.
You know, that's the that's the cop out today when you're doing analysis is.
