And pitch values can move around a lot.
You know, a guy hits a home run off your on an O2 fastball, even if it was a perfect pitch, and you know, hey, you faced Aaron Judge, bummer.
Um, and that that'll mess with both numbers.
But the idea is looking at three things gives you a good base to say, oh, these three things are saying the same thing.
It's probably a good pitch.
Oh, they're saying different things?
Huh.
Like that's confusing.
Let me look at the whole thing in context.
But basically
Look at stuff that feels like that tries to account for context in one way or another.
Don't look at something that is, you know, batting average, which only includes strikeouts on two strike pitches, because you're just gonna get confused.
It's gonna be too confusing relative to how good it is.
Try to look at something like
the raw quality of the pitch or when they swing, do they hit it?
That is a little bit less reliant on whether we're calling something a strikeout or just a swinging strike.
