What is their agent thinking kind of deals?
Like, they're very reasonable in the context of salary arbitration in terms of what other people are making.

You know, one of the things that is so valuable about young players that you get them forever, and you'd be willing to pay a market rate to keep getting them when they're at their peak.
knowing that you're not going to retain them you know for 30 years or whatever like no one's going to be sad about paying weatherholt at age 31 like 25 million dollars great like but let's please do that uh i think the teams have increasingly been willing to put like market rate ish uh free agent years on the end of these deals in ones that aren't like huge monetary this is not you know the ronald lacuna deal where the options are for like
$15, $17 million.
And you're like, well, that doesn't make sense.
He's much better than that.
These are like fair deals, I'd say, for both sides that get both sides what they want.
The teams get these slightly longer years of control, which is really valuable.
And the players are getting guaranteed $100 million.
I would like that, too.
So...
It's like a real win-win situation that I think it's nice that baseball has been going this way where it's no longer, hey, you can sign an extension if we rip you off and otherwise we'll let it play out for a while.
Both sides are getting motivated to get these done.
I guess I would add, with Griffin specifically, last year, one of the people I talked to was like, Connor Griffin should be in your top 30.
