Good, lads.
Nice to be here in our new studio.
It's looking nice and tidy.
Shout out to Red Bull.
Yeah, cool.
So Sharesies developed...
kids kiwi saver accounts and as part of that we're running a promotion where we will contribute 25 cents for every dollar up to 100 and that's between july this year to june next year so you got a whole year so up to 100 that means 400 would get you 100 from us and your kids kiwi saver account that's awesome yeah that's simple too and it's almost like you're like the not not the employee but that's kind of like what employees do for us like you're not matching it
per se but you're you're putting in a contribution for us to to make it worth our while yeah we're just you know helping the kids uh kiwi saver accounts get started we believe in like long-term wealth building and this is a great way to help people um and the power of like compounding returns over time right so that hundred dollars can grow exponentially over the life of someone until they retire
Yeah well I guess over the years you've seen like the KiwiSaver bonuses like remember when it started you got a grand, no matter how old you were, kind of disappear over the years and we thought like we can put out a kid's KiwiSaver but let's make it kind of special and encourage parents to take an interest in KiwiSaver and need to take an interest in their kid's KiwiSaver
Because if they learn about it early, they might not be as apathetic as a lot of people have become for the savings scheme.
So if we can get kids started and see them contributing to it, they take an active interest in it and they understand it a lot better and know what it means and how it works.
We think there's lots of positives out of that.
That's right.
We did some bottling using sorted calculator.
And if you put in the full $400 over that year, plus the $100 from sharesies, that's $500.
If you did nothing else after 65 years, it's worth about $26,000.
Compounding returns based on an average growth fund returns.
Not guaranteed, but, you know, we use the sorted calculator.
That's the government, so we trust them.
And, you know, you're going to contribute more to that over time.
