Furious about it.

Last year, going into the summer break, Max Verstappen was 97 points away from Oscar Piastri.

And of course, we know he lost the title by just two points in Abu Dhabi.

Lando Norris, currently 91 points back.

And Max Verstappen, as mentioned, just over 100.

Are they completely out of this?

In fairness, we've seen it from them before where they've brought an upgrade mid-season and it's stuck like that form.

This is true.

Yeah.

I think the issue for all three of those drivers mentioned is that in 2025, Norris and Piastri were quite consistently taking points off of each other in that they both had seven wins.

They both had a similar number of DNFs and non-scores.

It meant that the Constructors' Championship last year was won by over 350 points, and yet they nearly didn't win the Drivers' title, which is just an unfathomable, never-heard-of thing in F1, but it nearly happened.

But that situation isn't happening this year because Russell's not taking enough wins and enough points off of Antonelli.

And because of that,

I'm struggling to see a way back in.

If Antonelli and Russell, similar to last year with the McLaren duo, if they had the same number of points this year, they'd both have, let's say, 190 points.

In which case, Max Verstappen's only 91 points back and Lando Norris is 62 points back.

And you think, well, if the upgrade works and keeps working, maybe there's a situation that could unfold.

But...

They, I think, would need a lot of help from definitely DNFs.
