I know that he remains a consistent touch point for your work.
I love that phrase of his, and I know you've quoted it on a number of occasions about how y you should be able to look at me and see my work.
You should be able to look at my work and see me.
You know, obviously that reads like a manifesto, but it's also something of a manifesto for you, isn't it?
I mean it's a clear
reference point at least for you.
I wanted to talk about landscape and American art.
And obviously when you began making these works in twenty seventeen
Which have continued right up to now.
You must have been thinking not just about landscape photography, but the whole landscape tradition in American art and how much it is directly connected to social and political conditions.
Tell me about how, if you like, formally you engaged with that tradition.
When you were making these works, were you actively going and looking at landscape photography and landscape painting and so on and thinking about how your work responded to it or was it again like
in in in a way you just described it was it was there within you when you were responding to it kind of in a more intuitive way.
