And the other thing is, as a player who's not yet on the 40-man roster, he can continue working with the Blue Jays performance people throughout the entire winter.

I'd give them a look, and I think as good as the bullpen has been this year, it's just one of those areas where they were actually pretty healthy in the bullpen, despite all the issues in the starting rotation.

The bullpen held it together and kept them in this thing for a long time, and I think as they move ahead, you can't assume that that's going to be the case every year, especially

given the workload that they put these guys through in 26, whether it's Flewharty, Fisher, Varlin, Rogers, Miles, they all pitched a ton.

So oftentimes when you look at a group of pitchers that goes that hard one season, sometimes a couple of those guys need breathers the next year.

And that's where you got to backfill.

So one way or another, they're definitely going to have to add to that bullpen
