Can you detail a little bit of what it's like to do your work there while you're getting ready for the season and what kind of things you were doing while you were still talking with the Blue Jays?
Talking with Blue Jays left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin, you had the challenge of somewhat continuing to get ready for the year while you're pitching in games because you only made the one outing before coming up.
How did you handle that?
What was that like to still get a feel for stuff, but you're doing it in a competitive environment in a regular season game?
You mentioned earlier coming into this clubhouse and liking the situation here.
You came in with some guys you were familiar with, specifically Max Scherzer you had been a teammate with before and now rejoining him here.
What is it like to have been on a team with Max and what is it like to rejoin him again?
The day we're talking, unfortunately, he goes on the injured list.
But generally, what is it like to be in a clubhouse with him?
Speaking with Blue Jays lefty Patrick Corbin, just a couple more for you.
Former teammates, you saw one on the recent road trip for the Blue Jays.
When you guys were in Anaheim, a former catcher of yours in Kurt Suzuki was managing against you.
What is it like when you face guys, whether they're playing for the other team, coaching for the other team, managing, that know your pitches so intimately, have seen it from that angle?
Do you have to change anything, or just what is that situation like for you as a pitcher?
Last one for you, non-baseball related.
You're from the Syracuse area, which puts basketball into your blood immediately.
I believe you already told me about an affinity for Hakeem Warwick, who would have played there when they won the national title.
What kind of basketball player were you growing up when you were playing around there in Syracuse in a competitive high school environment?
What was Patrick Corbin on the basketball court like?
Definitely hoping for that.
