And they're right.
And so this was frankly important to me in looking at that.
The other amount of money that we got in the appropriation was $425,000 for the Fort Lauderdale roadway resurface.
resurfacing.
And this fund helps for pre-existing roadway projects that we have here.
Since my time in the legislature, it has been something that we have been working on and been finding year in and year out.
And so I'm happy to have continued that fight and getting that appropriation in.
As you heard my colleagues share,
This process is an interesting process.
We talk about the bipartisanism that we work with to ensure that we get our stuff done.
And definitely that is something that we do day in and day out.
That's the moment that I was elected.
I serve to help serve with the other 119 members in the House.
But I stand here before you today frustrated at the process that we are in today.
It's the second year that we passed the budget after the 60 days.
For those who may not know, our main objective is to pass a balanced budget.
That's all that we are set up to do.
All the bills, all the infighting, those are extra things.
We're there to ensure that we are passing a balanced budget.
And the fact that we, for a second year in a row, haven't been able to complete that within the days that we're allowed in a part-time legislature is a waste of tax people's money.
