Obviously, poor start in the Six Nations, reasonably tough November.
Provinces, yeah, some positives, but in general, a little bit of disappointment.
So I think it can give us a real boost to our confidence if we can go and have a really good three weeks.
And,
No, it isn't, but it probably gives our...
the Northern Hemisphere teams a little bit of an insight into the difficulty of the rugby championship you know with the travel that those players are exposed to in that competition even a little insight into what it's like for the South Africans to have to come up here you know it is it's very hard on the bodies but and I think we've been incredibly lucky I mean
I know there's a little bit of discontent in Japan that that game has been played in Newcastle in Australia rather than in Japan, that they're having to travel to play us there.
We've certainly got the run of the green on this occasion.
You'd imagine in two years' time, you know, it mightn't be as simple for us, but it's just part and parcel of it now.
And as I said, it's the cash cow of the game.
So, you know, certain Northern Hemisphere teams are going to have to travel more this...
this summer than they have in the past but they've got good S&C they've got good heads of performance who can manage that but yeah it just shows you how important it is that you have alignment between your national government body and your club and obviously you know where there's a lot of century contracted players which they are in Ireland
even though it's been an incredibly long season, they still can get gaps in the year to rest and recover.
It's the lads who are the countries who are playing outside of their national governing body where they can't have that same sense of communication and organisation to get breaks into them that you feel a little bit sorry for, but it's just the way it's gone at the moment.
They're trying to finance the game.
The game is in a difficult enough place and
They feel this competition can give money back to the unions, which can go back into the professional game plus the grassroots.
doing the same this year this is the ideal opportunity to frame what's coming ahead yeah it's going to be interesting how Ireland are physically for that first game because because the provinces three of the provinces were knocked out quite early I mean they had a little bit of rest and they were doing some training in the province then they were coming up to the to the high performance centre to get some sessions in so theoretically they should be pretty fresh
maybe lacking a bit of game time, if anything.
And then obviously you have your Leinster players who played all the way to the final and then they went down early.
