You can put that on in the background.
And your children don't even know it, but it's actually having an impact on the whole family.
So music is a wonderful way in the evenings when you're trying to, you know, calm things down, turning the lights down.
A lot of times people will even put in like red light bulbs or orange light bulbs in their home because that's more closely mimics like the sunset, right?
The evening transition from day to night.
So they'll put on calming lights.
So anything you can do to make the environment calming is going to help reset that family nervous system.
And, of course, I think parents need to be honest with their own nervous system, too.
Like, can you self-reflect and evaluate, like, am I causing stress in the family?
I have one child who always used to say to me years ago, Mom, you're twitchy.
And I was like, what do you mean I'm twitchy?
She's like, she was trying to describe how I was stressed and she could feel my stress.
And that was her way of describing it.
And I was like, so grateful to hear that from her.
I mean, kids are so amazing at reflecting back for us the things that we need to know.
And she taught that to me.
I was like, I am twitchy.
My nervous system is dysregulated and I could do so much more to support my kids if I could just regulate myself first.
So I have seen pretty much every single chronic health condition in kids reversed with the exception of type 1 diabetes.
But I think we're very close to that happening.
