Yeah, I thought it was a really gracious sort of statement and a lot more emotive than sort of the three lines we got via Fabrizio Romano, which I imagine came via an agent on Saturday morning.

He was like, Frank's all the best, aren't we?

which I'm pretty sure he himself didn't compose.

I think he will have had a hand in composing this letter.

And I think the fact that he did it through the Echo was a nice touch as well.

And again, whether that was his idea or probably in consultation with people at the club.

But I just think to address that you can talk however you like about the local paper and local media and stuff now and its role and things, but I will always be of the belief it's very important.

And it was a nice way for him to communicate with people.

And I also just think it does speak to him as being quite a gracious person.

And that's why I've been accused a lot of being too soft on him and I think maybe clouded slightly by the fact that every dealing that I've had with him, I think there's a lot of managers this season, after some of the results and the performances, faced with some of the questions that he's had, would have lost the rag, quite frankly.

And I've never seen him do that to any degree.

There's maybe been times he's been a little bit spikier or a little bit, you know, more frustrated toward the end of the season.

But, you know, I think for the most part, he's been quite dignified.

I think his handling of the Salah situation, again, I think a lot of people have been

sort of swayed by their loyalty to Salah and that's fine and that's you know that's how football works people adore Salah and rightly so for what he did but I also think you know when you look at it the amount of sort of punches that Salah has thrown in slot's direction and he's sort of

not done that back and I think with the exception of he he said in his sort of in the embargo section a few weeks ago about the you know standards aren't only important in the gym and to me you know I thought that was misguided I thought it was unnecessary but I also think it was maybe just a human moment from him that he's you know he

he almost hasn't had a right of reply to a lot of these, always tried to refrain from replying and stoking the fires.
