I never got a penny, no.
Yeah.
The hardest part actually was not the lack of money, I have to say, because I was happy in my little two bedroom flat.
I could go home at night, you know, with Damien.
I was happy to have a baby.
So that was fine.
But it was trying to hold down a job by far was the worst part for me.
And also, I didn't have a car, believe it or not.
So I actually had a mortgage around my neck, age 22.
But I didn't own a car until I was 30.
So trying to do everything with a baby, then a toddler, just walking the streets with the pushchair, trying to get to work on two buses.
It was really, really difficult.
Oh yeah, we spent a lot of time on buses and we spent a lot of time walking.
Yeah, hence I was probably three stone lighter than I am now.
Yeah, that was the difficult thing really was trying to keep everything going whilst having a full-time job that was very demanding.
Yeah, I mean, I really didn't feel either particularly poor.
I just felt that we lived a very simple life and I had enough money to pay for that.
So that was fine.
Yeah, that was, I used to save the family allowance.
That was the holiday money.
