Because he said he wanted to get back all the money that was stolen.
He doesn't want that.
But that would just let Exxon and everyone else, whoever's involved, go to court and get whatever they can get.
No, he wants to control that money.
He wants to give it to the people he favors.
And the whole thing's a fantasy.
Of course, the oil thing, how much oil they're going to get, how easy it's going to be to get, how much difference it'll make on the oil market, which is, in any case, we're not short of oil right now.
Prices have come down, or not high.
But anyway, leaving aside the whole...
Trump fantasy about oil stuff, it's it is revealing that, yes, he wants to control it.
This is about him being, you know, more authoritarianism in this case abroad, but also back at home.
Right.
Because it does end up he controls what the oil companies do here.
And they have been screaming about the social, God, if Mamdani sets up five tiny little grocery stores in New York or gets a little tougher on some of the real estate guys, if California passes it probably or tries to enforce probably an ill-advised whatever tax on the wealth of billionaires, it probably would just be counterproductive.
They'll leave, but whatever.
That's the end of capitalism.
