I mean, listen, the Steelers and Mike McCarthy and Art Rooney have said it.
They're not a team that's in rebuilding.
They're not trying to rebuild.
So their goal isn't to see what Will Howard has or what a rookie QB would have.
It's only going to come if they get into that spot.
And so the opportunities come in practice.
They come through development.
They come through the preseason.
You kind of have to do evaluation in that regard.
And I mean, if you get a game where it's meaningless or Rodgers gets hurt, that's kind of something to look at.
Listen, the first barometer that they have to clear is Mason Rudolph.
That's the other thing, right?
There's another veteran quarterback on this roster that's been here for almost a decade at this point.
And Mason Rudolph is a very solid outcome for either of a day three quarterback.
If your day three quarterback turns into Mason Rudolph, that's a good pick.
Mason Rudolph is a long-term backup.
Most day three quarterbacks don't last in the league past their rookie contract.
So that would be a good pick.
So if any of those guys beat out Mason Rudolph,
And that Mason Rudolph's contract is very movable.
