There are tickets to be sold, there are TV broadcasts to have, and these are still TV events that do decent numbers nationally.
And so I, you know, could they walk away from it?
And frankly, going the other direction, could college football make a lot of money by selling tickets and by having broadcasts in August and yet they still won't do it.
Um, far be it for college to pass up a chance to make money, but but it's it is just interesting that we've sort of grandfathered both of these levels of football in at at how it's always been and uh
uh nobody seems too terribly interested in finding, you know, like the perfect um optimized way of doing season preparation stuff.
Yeah, yeah.
It it it it's actually such an elementary idea, George, that you actually have jobs on the line at training camp and in the off season program.
So you want uh competition.
You want
A meritocracy where we're going to take the best
Uh five corners, not
the five corners that we've invested the most in.
And I think that's a huge distinguishing difference is that we we have to um not always concede to
their Wikipedia page.
And what that means is a draft position.
Did we invest in you when you came out of college?
Well, if the answer is yes, then you have a job, no matter what, for your whole rookie contract.
And if we didn't invest in you,
Well, then uh we're going to uh make you do more and more to make the team over somebody we did invest in.
Because, you know, if you just put all your draft picks on your team every year, George, you know what you're going to do?
