One more towards the middle of the field, right?
So everything is going to come out from split safeties.
Let's talk about the negative side of that.
The run defense, right?
The run defense has been bad both years.
Um,
This past year, not terrible, actually.
Middle of the pack, 15th in rushing, 15th in yards per attempt the year before, 26 in yards per game, 18th in yards per attempt.
If anything, Tennessee did kind of have the guys that could help with that.
I remember watching Shane Bowen's film streams.
I was like, you know, maybe they're good playing the run defense because these guys aren't stars, but they are good run defenders.
if you're going to be living in split safety, he lives out of nickel, right?
They're never going to get in base, uh, personnel.
If they're, uh, you know, if you're playing heavy personnel, what he's going to do is he's going to put on a third safety instead of, uh, or, you know, a fourth safety, uh, excuse me, a third safety instead of, uh, just your regular nickel corner.
Uh,
This is the difference is as much as they don't have the defensive ends, Burns and Carter are not great edge setters.
So there's going to have to be more of an emphasis on those guys of stopping the run on the way to the passer.
But also, he's going to have a lot more fun as a pass rusher.
He had the stunt a lot up front with those guys.
Maybe that's something he dials back a little bit, even though we would like to see it a little bit, especially on those late downs with โ
