But it might be several tracks going on at once.
But, you know, as far as, for example, the nuclear issue,
And the other issues of contention between the US and Iran, those are on hold.
I think they are keen for the deal to hold, but they also realize that they, to some extent, have a little bit of the upper hand.
It's obvious to everyone who's watching that Donald Trump doesn't want to go back into war and that the efforts that they had put into this
have been to not, none of the goals, none of the original goals, principally regime change,
destroying the nuclear program, destroying the ballistic missile program.
None of those goals are achievable, and the Americans know it, and the Iranians know that the Americans know it.
So they hold some of the cards there.
But I think the connection between Hezbollah and Lebanon's Shia community goes deep in Iran, and it's more than just a proxy.
It's a community connection that goes back many, many decades.
And they see that there's a real danger with this occupation, that that community could be destroyed.
And they also see that Israel is really trying to spark a kind of civil war in Lebanon between the Shia and the Sunni and Christian communities.
They don't want that.
They have more than just a
security interests in what happens in Lebanon.
And so they're going to try to salvage that community and make sure that their Shia brethren are taken care of.
Well, I don't think it's, I think it's possible that it could stay in Lebanon.
I mean, there could be an implicit, and there often are in these kinds of conflicts and these geopolitical stratagems, implicit understandings that their focus will be here in Lebanon.
