She was very active in Perception and kinda led the way early on when like marketing and sales with Perception.

Uh and you know, not to mention she was just an incredible paddler in her own right.

But um

you know incredible squirt boater.

I remember seeing her squirt boating back in the nineties and just the things she could do in a squirt boat was uh unbelievable.

But even more important than her own personal paddling is what she has meant to the Whitewater community.

So again, what an honor and a privilege to have you on B flow sessions.

So Risa we ask everybody, how did you find your flow in kayaking?

And and approximately what years were this?

Okay.

And and then take us through the eighties then of kinda how you then started to get more serious in the Whitewater and then joining, you know, the ranks of being a professional and working in and

kayak companies and for Whitewater organizations and you know, take us all the way through that curve.

Yeah, I mean I I started competing in ninety nine and uh competed at the Koei Rodeo several times and still to d this day, I mean I drove by it just the other day when I drive by that huge parking lot going, you know, leading from when it starts there all the way up through the Olympics section.

And and I went as a spectator of the ninety six Olympics and I don't think about that parking lot being the Olympics.

I think about that parking lot being where everybody

Everybody was parked and where all the vendors were for the Okoi Rodeo.

And w and what were some of your roles at perception during that time?

And then and then Shane Benedict before kind of took over from him?

Well, let me ask you this question, 'cause you've seen the sport for, you know, well over forty years.
