So Casey is the director of the Ottawa Kayak School. matched

He's a former NO C instructor and that's kinda how I know him and he's also led trips in Chile and all over the world and and s you know matched

He we were talking before we started recording and he was saying he's not at the upper echelon of kayakers. matched

And I think there's quite a bit of modesty there because if anybody knows Casey knows and see his exploits on social media, he is definitely one of the top kayakers in the world and is a uh an amazing uh creator as well, video and photography. matched

So we're gonna hear a lot about that. matched

Uh so Casey, speaking of, how did you find your flow in kayaking? matched

How did it all start for you? matched

Wow. matched

And then you mentioned earlier uh two Chris Hipgrave was also one of your first flow mentors. matched

Yeah, so w it's funny, you know, they were both two of my mentors as well twenty years earlier. matched

So Well take us through though then your your paddling career from, you know, as a as a youth in Western North Carolina and then, you know, go on. matched

I know you took some time off from kayaking and but then, you know, came back to it as an adult in a big way and then, you know, lead us all the way up to um how you discovered the Ottawa kayak school. matched

to tee my generation too, kind of like late nineties through like two thousand five, there was so many of us who were charging hard and like um before Wayner was the head of instruction, it was a a a lady by the name of uh Ellen DeQueer, Ellen Babers. matched
