And I they will not use that word again, but I think that they do they operate as though they they they feel like inf inflation that's outside of their control isn't like something that they should go go after with with podcast-host

their policy, you know, by trying to hike to to further soften the the Canadian economy. podcast-host

And and so as a result, I could see them being comfortable with us being on like the, you know, two and a half to three and a half range of of inflation rather than the what one and a half to two and a half. podcast-host

When you get back kind of into that inflationary environment and they're trying to let and you know, they're comfortable letting the economy even grow through inflation, y you know, on the nominal numbers, housing becomes a part of that. podcast-host

you know, sort of the way that I that if you look at past cycles, you do sort of get to a bottom, but it ends up being a la long, flat bottom and you kind of bounce bounce along it for a l a long period of time, a couple of years, frankly, uh as it takes so long for consumer confidence to rebuild. podcast-host

But where people really get smoked without realizing it is on the real house price. podcast-host

You know, if if if inflation's at three and a half and your house prices are at zero or one, they're not falling. podcast-host

And so people aren't really that concerned about the market. podcast-host

But they're losing value in their in for most people their their highest component of their household net worth. podcast-host
