We all got things to do.
So like, yeah, I just feel like that's a little disrespectful of people's time and, you know, not really acknowledging of that sort of thing.
But yeah, I think in general, people are pretty good about that sort of thing.
I think the horror stories, if anything, are more just, and again, I'm sympathetic to PR as the middlemen usually, so it's not necessarily their fault, but the horror stories more are just not having enough lead time for things.
Like a lot of the time, like even we saw this a few days ago with 007 First Light.
The codes came in on a Friday and then the embargo was Tuesday, review embargo.
So it's like, and this was the US long weekend too.
So I feel especially bad for the journalists in the US who were off for three days and then they were expected to leave.
play a 20 hour game and review it within like three or four days.
Like, I think that's not ideal in a lot of cases.
And obviously that's like a more extreme case, but even just in general, like a lot of the times you'll get an email about something that's embargoed for like the next day.
And, or, and I'm like, that's just not enough time, unfortunately.
Yeah, that's a great question.
I think one of the great things about indie development is they have a lot more flexibility in that sense.
They're not a big $200 million AAA game that has a very strict marketing cycle.
So I think it's really kind of up to the developer.
And when I talk to them, I try to be flexible around that too.
When I was meeting with developers at XP Game Summit last week, some of their games were really early in development.
And so I was kind of asking them like,
what makes more sense for you like to do an article now early on to kind of engender early support or does it make more sense late once the game is more fully formed and and some of them have different sort of perspectives on that obviously if some of them have like kickstarters or whatever earlier on i think makes more sense obviously because they want the money for that sometimes in some cases
