I'm going to say something that's probably maybe not the most politically correct thing to say as the mayor of the city of Chicago.
Getting in and out...
of Soldier Field is an absolute nightmare.
Let me tell you how bad it is.
Bears versus Packers.
I'm at the game.
We're losing.
I decide to leave to beat the traffic.
Before I get out of the footprint, the Bears had come back to win.
The ingress-egress part, that's what we have to fix.
In the other locations, they don't even have the basic fundamentals to do things like the sewage, the weight of that many people coming through there, not to mention ingress-egress.
They have not even solved what we have already had as established, the ability to actually host large-scale events.
The only thing that we need for our infrastructure is ingress, egress.
We need that regardless, right?
The museum campus as a whole benefits from it.
Look, Chicagoans want to watch the bears in Chicago.
Everybody knows that.
There's frustration because we did not get complete cooperation when we came out two years ago.
So here's what I'm committed to doing.
Working with Bears fans, working with the governor, working with the state general assembly, working with all of our partners, as I've said before, to come up with a viable pathway to ensure that a publicly owned stadium in which our inevitable Super Bowl champions can actually play in.
