Like little skate camps, little skate contests are like how you motivate like a little kid or motivate a parent to be willing to take their kid skating.
Not everybody gets to just like hop on the train and go downtown to skate Muni when they're 12.
So how do we facilitate skating in all those different levels is like part of the whole point and what we want to try to achieve out of the shop.
It means everything to have – a kid have the idea also that there's something to – like I love skating and want to work in it, but I'm not good enough to be a pro, but maybe I could go work for a brand.
Look, there's a team manager.
There's a photographer.
There's a filmer.
There's like a branding guy, like artists.
Like all of those jobs exist.
And right now I think there's like across every category people think they're either –
an Instagram influencer, and they're going to be a pro skater, or they're going to be a model, or they're going to live at home with their parents for their whole life.
So I want the idea that there's jobs out there in skating in a bigger way.
How many times did you go back the summer later and, like, the kid has your board and he's like, can I get an autograph?
You were dope last year, like, it was awesome to talk to you.
You weren't cool guy me and just fucking... I get messages all the time.
You're motivated, though.
When it's a nice sunny day,
like you want to go skating.
Cause like last week we had 103 degree days and then, uh, in the winter we might have 20 degree days and a foot of snow.
