Now that's for a different reason altogether, but the statistics are there.
and most people don't beat the market.
So, okay, why would anyone, why would you suggest that anyone could beat the market?
And it's mainly down to temperament.
It's definitely not an IQ problem.
It's not a smarts problem.
Warren Buffett will say, you know, investing is not a sport where the 160 IQ beats the 120 IQ.
So it's very much down to temperament and understanding how markets work and what causes them to blow up.
and how to develop a rational mindset that allows you to act decisively when you're presented obvious opportunities.
The sad reality is that when most people are presented obvious opportunities in the stock market, where they run the valuation model, like the valuation models in that book, you can literally just write it down, do the third grade maths and come to a conclusion.
And when it's staring you straight in the face that, yes, this thing is not just at intrinsic value, it's at a 50% margin of safety.
It's amazing how many people then go, maybe not, and then they don't do anything.
As Warren Buffett says, it's when you get caught sucking your thumb.
He says that's his biggest mistake in his, you know, what, 60 something years of investing, more than that, 80 years of investing, probably, because you start at age 11, right?
Yeah.
So, that's his biggest regret or mistake.
He says it's mistakes of omission.
It's mistakes where he knew what he should have done, but he didn't act.
He didn't do it because something happened in his head that scared him out.
Yeah.
