Maybe a little control by being a good supporter, but ultimately very little.
And they're not thinking about anything else.
Nothing else is happening at all in the fans' mind.
And they are surrendered into the collective in an incredibly profound way.
What a wonderful piece of therapy there.
It is a marvellous piece of therapy.
I cannot think of anything better for people to do.
You're letting the boundary of yourself and the person next to you merge.
You're going to be hugging a complete stranger when someone you don't know at all scores a point on the field.
So you see, so that is something you can become absorbed in.
And being absorbed in something, the state of absorption, the state of flow that comes with that is very powerful.
Utterly absorbed in something that if it goes right or goes wrong, isn't really your fault.
You blame the players when it goes wrong.
