Even though he hasn't been in Illinois, he's played a lot of really good football.

So it's fun in this world that we're in, this free agent era that we're in, to bring these guys.

48% of my roster is going to play for the first time at the University of Illinois this fall.

So half of our roster is new, but I was so glad.

I had the two years with the Patriots and one year with the Giants.

I'm glad I had that NFL experience because it's more like the NFL than ever before.

Yeah, anytime you have success, you're going to have, you know, the result of that is people want your guys, right?

You know, so, you know, two years ago, I had 20 coaches, nine of them had played for me.

And

We had a great consistency three years in a row where we had the same offensive, defense, special teams coordinator.

But because we have success, my special teams coordinator went to Ohio State and my defense coordinator went to Notre Dame.

I can't stop those things from happening.

Those guys have those decisions.

I really made an emphasis on bringing in some maturity.

So Bobby Howick had been a head coach in college football, had been in the playoffs 16 times.

And he runs a 3-3-5, very aggressive.

It's different than anything that's ever been seen at Illinois.

So it's a lot different, but it's been proven.

I went against him.

I was a head coach at Arkansas, and he was at UNLV.
