You know, basically criticizing NASA on their mischaracterization or misleading the public on everything, which added a lot of credibility to this Mars investigative team to actually get academic figure like him involved.

Her name is Kinthea.
She's still with us.
And she put together a clay sculpture.
And they tested this under different lighting conditions to show that the facial features kind of do hold up.
So this is the original Viking image of the face.
And so they were putting this to the test because NASA said, well, the facial features went away.
And they didn't, okay?

You know what animation was like back in the 80s, Matt.
It was hardly what it is today.
So for him to be able to do this, again, just in his spare time, again, the facial features held up.
Dr. Mark Carlotto exchanged letters...
mailed back and forth back then with Carl Sagan.
They were addressing this facial feature mishap, okay?
And Carl Sagan said, I certainly agree...
that Jerry Soften's, what he called it, tricks of light and shadow.

You're seeing tricks of light and shadow.
