Like, you have regret because of that?
And then I started to process like, yeah, you're right.
And so the permission they gave me to not feel that regret, among many others, washed that away.
And I was able to move forward from that.
It's the entirety of my career.
There's nothing in this lens to the point where I'm uncomfortable speaking about myself, but I'm very comfortable speaking about the people with whom I serve.
So it was from the beginning.
There's no accomplishment or medal or, you know... Because you've had a lot of medals and accomplishments in the years.
Yeah.
And I'm fortunate to be not just recognized, but the people I was with be recognized through that.
And of course, I'm proud of them, but I'm more proud of the people that I was with when those events that those medals signify happened.
And so from day one of my career with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, people invested in me.
I was a kid straight out of grad school.
I was 24 years old.
I didn't know what I was doing.
I knew how to talk to people, which is pretty important if you're going to be a special agent or really a good human, in my opinion.
But every case that I was able to be a part of, whether it was working drugs or undercover, or when I came to the FBI and I was working La Cosa Nostra organized crime matters here, the best city in the world, in New York, on the SWAT team, on the hostage rescue team.
And then when I moved into management positions, trying to be a leader therein,
It all compounded and went from standing on a few shoulders and then towards the end, 38,000 shoulders.
There's nothing that I achieved that I did by myself.
