One of the things we've been working on and putting into production is essentially what I call a value canvas.
So we look at potential applications of transformative technologies through the lens of, is it foundational?
Is it strategic?
Or is it disruptive?
And then we say, is it in support of revenue growth, operating expense reduction, or experience improvement for stakeholders?
And today, much of the investment has gone to foundational operating expense reductions.
In the future, we seek to have more investment in strategic and disruptive investments.
that is for the benefit of stakeholder experience improvements, but focused on advanced analytics and AI to help transform the healthcare system.
And ultimately where this is headed, where we see the system headed over time when we're successful at this is moving from today, which is a sick care system here in the US to one that's much more focused on upstream preventive care, the use of diagnostics for early detection,
and patients feeling more empowered to take control of their own healthcare.
Because you look at today in the US healthcare system, 85% of the spending is for chronic care.
That's a sick care system.
And we want to work upstream with the power of technology and AI to make the system more effective and more sustainable in the future.
Yeah, this is an area that in our estimation is still relatively nascent, but it could be a breakthrough over time.
So you hear about examples of full body scanners and what's the potential for full body scanners.
There are examples that are in use today where AI is able to detect cancers at an earlier point than what traditional medical technology has been able to do.
That's an example.
There are wearables that over time can get people more engaged with their health.
And then there's, again, more early stage opportunities like genomic diagnostics and what that could do in time to help people take more control earlier before their healthcare becomes part of the sick care system that I was just referencing.
So those are opportunities we see.
