You know, in the founder role, when you're doing sales, when I talk to people just casually, they're like, how do you transition to that sales team?
The rule I have is I build a process and I follow it myself.
And if at any point it's based on what only Brian knows, that's a failure in the process and something needs to be fixed.
Same thing on the operations side or in finance and client care and whatnot.
Why not?
Because there's only one of me.
Right.
And I can only be at so many places and so often.
So I can, if it's the, I mean, this is Maxwell's law of the lid, right?
Right.
If there's something that only I can do, the organization will only grow to the point at which my bandwidth is tapped to do that thing.
And at that point, there is no more growth no matter what I do.
I have to be able to take myself out of the picture and either take that information and teach it to people or standardize it or find a way where it's not needed so that it can continue to scale.
Yeah, less that, but an extension of that.
Because the high off-scaling kind of offsets that, where it really becomes challenging as a founder, where it's like, I went in and did an amazing job, and we've had this client for 10 years and whatnot, and we hear a cancellation come through because they didn't like the person or the job they did that I taught to take over for me.
That's where it really sucks.
Yeah.
When I'm like, oh, I remember this guy.
We had a great rapport.
He was a great client.
