You know, he said one win since January away from home.
That's not really the form of a team that should be winning the league, even though they ran Celtic extremely close.
And it's something they're going to have to improve for next season if they all want to go one better and actually win it.
Yeah, especially when it went ahead, when it went 2-1 ahead.
You just thought to yourself, right, they're really going to kick into gear now.
I think it was Shanklin's first game back and him and Braga were causing endless problems.
But it was almost like they went ahead and it was like, right, that's the three points sewn up and they just began to set off the game, which allowed us to come back into it.
So, yeah, again, Derek will take a...
a lot of that blame on his own shoulders because he's that sort of manager he's a perfectionist you know he'll be proud of his players and he'll always want to do better himself and his staff so he'll take that but as I said you know I'm really reluctant to really you know put much blame at the door of those players and Derek because they've been fantastic all season
I think there's a fine line between that though, bro.
I think, you know, because if you've got too many players who've been through that heartache, I think it can take you into next season.
I think there has to be a freshness in terms of new players coming in as well to give you that new energy and, you know, refresh the boys that have been there.
Because like you said, that experience will definitely make them better going forward.
But if it's 95% of the same squad, I think it becomes a little bit more difficult.
was still of a level the hearts came within three minutes or whatever you know yeah of winning the league as well that's why obviously we're having such a debate because it's came so so close a lot of injuries within that time as well Gordon you know some really big players were missing for them I spoke about Shanklin coming back against Livingston but you know there was four or five players when you know when they were out you're thinking surely hearts can't continue they're sure they can't still be top of the league and they were so
On one hand, you understand you want to win every game of football.
It rarely happens or it doesn't happen.
But on the other hand, as I said, and Brian was saying, it would be better for the experience.
It was a difficult period for them away from home January onwards.
Unfortunately for them, it means they lose the league on the last day to Celtic.
