We were like ragtag rovers and and and then slowly but surely we have had this uh centre built in in UCD and I don't think the team ever looked back.
And you know, they've been consistently very strong, haven't won maybe as much as they would have wanted, but it's such an important part.
around your overall development and your project of, you know, twenty, thirty years when we're all gonna be in new roles and doing different things, that it's building the the whole organization and the environment and the fan base and everything.
So it's it's something to be very proud of.
Similarly to Dunner, I was blown away by how impressive it is that you you know, there's been no um shortcuts taken on on you know
What's been developed and I think it's very, very exciting time for you guys.
the thing is j John was out of the picture for a lot of it.
What I will say in uh about John is that um thank God for him um speaking up in the huddle after the tenth or eleventh try score against it. 'Cause I had to say to the team at that point.
I think it was a twenty minute mark.
It was uh it was a tough evening.
Obviously Jamie He step got sent off after about ten or fifteen minutes.
Um we were always going to be up against it, but um yeah, you know it's it's funny how the tide has turned, but um we had some very, very long outings against against the key who's particularly over there and and I do remember it well 'cause I do remember John speaking
up and and even though the game is gone, I think you you do find out a lot about people when the when the going gets tough and there's nothing to be gained other than salvaging a bit of pride, who's there to roll their sleeves up and who's willing to talk and who's willing to speak and in fairness to John, he was definitely one of them, even though he wasn't a mainstay in the team at that point.
It's very challenging position to find yourself in.
I've I should have had a bit of a Don't worry, I had a lot of experience of that.
You were all right, I had loads of
all you are is you're playing for the jersey the next day.
That's all you are, you know, and and like I said, to salvage some pride and and a bit of, you know, personal respect.
Um so that's all you can you can really say and um and you can't do what's you know, do anything about what's gone before but what what matters next is your next interaction, your next moment and yeah.
