I think a lot of people disconnect.
And I think, to be fair, people do that on the right, the left, urban, rural.
a lot of people look at what they see on TV and they, I'm not, and this is not like a trashing the media moment, although we can talk with the media, but you know, like a lot of people look at what they see on TV and they, they kind of view it as the national political circus and they don't always connect it to what's real happening in their communities.
Even if there is a tie to your point.
Yeah.
And I think that, you know, the other thing is a lot of people, you know, when they think about the immigration issue, if they have paid attention to it, you know, for the last couple of decades, they know that Congress has failed to your point, you know.
few minutes back has failed for decades to do anything about it.
And, you know, we don't have to live in this, in this reality where people, you know, want to feel like they're end up choosing between believing in securing our border and having a workforce or having immigrant, you know, strong immigrant presence in our communities.
It doesn't have to be that false choice.
Right.
And it's the choice that Washington's left us in.
And so I think that, you know, it's true that honestly, policymakers all across the board on both sides of the aisle have a lot of dialing in to do about the complexity of this issue.
And,
The position that they've left, you know, people in rural America, but everywhere in by leaving this issue unsolved.
you know, I think a lot of people in farm communities, small towns, rural communities across country feel that way too.
And I think that, you know, that was a, that was a big national moment on a big podium, you know, but
those are the kinds of messages that, you know, I hear in the local Catholic church back home and in different churches all over.
I mean, you know, there are different, you know, political angles that sometimes people will take on things and some pastors or priests feel differently about this or that, but that message of compassion and that message of, you know, having belief in the human dignity of each other, I think that's true.
And I think that that's something that
