But if they were prepared as well to murder an innocent child,
then what were they going to do if you had them, you know, making a statement and going as a witness into court or something like that and giving evidence in an open court, like, I mean, that the intimidation that those people would have been under, like, I mean, would have been colossal, you know, and I know that.
I am actually, yeah.
It's a case that's never gone away, though.
And it's one of those cases that won't go away.

I'd love to go back again, just for that case.

Most of the murders I had investigated up to that were well-known criminals and everything else like that.

Marlow was a well-known criminal, but John Campbell wasn't.
When I walked into the house that morning, I saw him on the floor with a hole in his head.
And he was lying just under the radiator.
That's how David Murphy, the plumber, couldn't see him.
He was like a child of 15.
I retired in July 2007.
