And the example I always use is if you and I, let's say you and I, Dwayne, wanted to start a trucking company to move product back and forth between LA and San Francisco, we're going to move, I don't know what it is, lumber.
And we needed to move it efficiently
so that we didn't get stopped in traffic jams and all that.
You know what we would do?
We'd probably like look at routes and times of day and traffic patterns and all this stuff to see how we could efficiently move stuff back and forth.
I mean, doesn't that make sense?
Because we want an efficient operation.
You know, Elon Musk was stuck on the highway between LA and San Francisco.
And you know what he thought?
Let's build a tunnel.
That's a different way of thinking than me and you.
We're trying to figure out the best route and the best time.
He's just thinking, I'm going to dig a tunnel underground.
I'll be there in 20 minutes.
So when you go ask Elon Musk what you should do about your business, he can't give you advice that's relevant to you.
His thinking is way too far out there.
The decisions he makes are hundreds of millions, not millions.
Where do I spend my next thousand dollars?
If you're going to take advice from somebody, find somebody who's about, I call it 10 steps ahead of you, that's fresh out of the game, that's been there and doing this and has made those mistakes at levels that are above you, but not so far above you that it's not relevant.
