Well, I am a resident of St Kilda in Dunedin, and I am a librarian.
I currently work for the National Library in the Services to Schools part of
part of the service and so I work with schools promoting the taonga of the nation.
But I'm about to start a new job going back to my roots as a school librarian.
So I'm inherently part of the book fabric of the world.
I love books and have always been a reader and I
I just basically want everybody to feel the joy that I feel when I'm reading.
Well, the Lilliput Library movement has been around in the world for quite a number of years, a long time now.
And it sort of started off with these things called little free libraries in America.
And they would sort of pop up on people's front lawns and people would just stock them with books that they no longer had any use for or they wanted to share.
Maybe they had two copies of the same book or something.
And they didn't have any sort of
formal design, they used an old fridge that maybe was repurposed, and that's still something that happens, and they just started to appear, and people in library circles started to notice them, and then of course communities build online, and people would share what was going in and out of their libraries, and it just became a little bit of a phenomenon.
